3rd SUNDAY OF PASCHA-Tone 2. Holy Myrrhbearing Women. Commemoration of the Founding of Constantinople. Hieromartyr Mocius (Mucius), Presbyter, of Amphipolis in Macedonia (3rd-4th c.). Holy Equals-to-the-Apostles Cyril (869) and Methodius (885), First Teachers of the Slavs. Ven. Sophr Recluse, of the Kiev Caves (Far Caves 13th c.). St. Joseph, Metropolitan of Astrakhan (1671). St. Nicodemus, Archbishop of Serbia (1325).
Acts 6:1-7
1 Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists, because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution.2 Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, "It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables.3 Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business;4 but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude. And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch,6 whom they set before the apostles; and when they had prayed, they laid hands on them.7 Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith.
Mark 15:43-16:8
43 Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent council member, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, coming and taking courage, went in to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.44 Pilate marveled that He was already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him if He had been dead for some time.45 So when he found out from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.46 Then he bought fine linen, took Him down, and wrapped Him in the linen. And he laid Him in a tomb which had been hewn out of the rock, and rolled a stone against the door of the tomb.47 And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses observed where He was laid.1 Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him.2 Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen.3 And they said among themselves, "Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?"4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away-for it was very large.5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed.6 But he said to them, "Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.7 But go, tell His disciples-and Peter-that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.8 So they went out quickly and fled from the tomb, for they trembled and were amazed. And they said nothing to anyone, for they w

ANTIPASCHA. 2nd SUNDAY OF PASCHA Tone 1. St. Thomas Sunday. Virgin Martyr Pelagia of Tarsus in Asia Minor (ca. 290). The Alfanov (Sokol nitsky) brethren: Ss. Nikita, Kirill, Nikifor, Clement, and Isaac, of Novgorod (14th - 15th c.). Hieromartyr Erasmus, Bishop of Formia in Campania (303). Hieromartyr Albian, Bishop of Anin Asia Minor (304). Hieromartyr Silvanus, Bishop of Gaza, and with him 40 Martyrs (311). Ven.
Nicephorus of Mt. Athos (Albanian - ca. 1300).
Acts 5:12-20
12 And through the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people. And they were all with one accord in
Solomon's Porch.13 Yet none of the rest dared join them, but the people esteemed them highly.14 And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women,15 so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them.16 Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits,
and they were all healed.17 Then the high priest rose up, and all those who were with him (which is the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with indignation,18 and laid their hands on the apostles and put them in the common prison.19 But at night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said,20 Go, stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life.
John 20:19-31
19 Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the
Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, "Peace be with you."20 When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.21 So Jesus said to them again, "Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you."22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit.23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.24 Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.25 The other disciples therefore said to him, "We have seen the Lord." So he said to them, "Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and
put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe."26 And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, "Peace to you!"27 Then He said to Thomas, "Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be
unbelieving, but believing."28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!"29 Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."30 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book;31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

HOLY PASCHA - THE RESURRECTION OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST. (Beginning of the Pentecostarion.) Hieromartyr Simeon, the kinsman of the Lord (107). Ven. Stephen, Abbot of the Kiev Caves and Bishop of Vladimir in Volyn (1094). St. Eulogius the Hospitable, of Constantinople (4th c.).
Acts 1:1-8
1 The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,2 until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen,3 to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the
things pertaining to the kingdom of God.4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father,
"which," He said, "you have heard from Me;5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, "Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?"7 And He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and
Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
John 1:1-17
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.2 He was in the beginning with God.3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe.8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and
truth.15 John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, "This was He of whom I said, 'He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was
before me.' "16 And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

An Island of spiritual values.

Once upon a time there was an Island in the Ocean where lived all spiritual values. One day they found that their island became settle down on the ocean. They decided leave this island and every from them went on a board ,except the Love. Love was waiting for the last moment, but when this island was almost covered with water Love also wanted leave it. Love called Wealth and asked it take on its ship, but Wealth answered :"I have too much gold and precious jewelry here, that have not any room for you". Then Loved asked the Melancholy to take on its ship, but it answered: " I am sorry, Love, but I like to be alone".There was a ship of Honour and Love asked it too, but Honour answered that Love can destroy its harmony. Also there was a ship of Joy, but there was such revelry that Joy did not hear call of Love.Love was despairingly, but
suddenly heard some voice behind :"Lets go,Love, I'll take you". Love turned back and saw an old man. He took Love on his ship and they arrived to dry land. When old man left Love, it recollect suddenly that did not ask his name. Then Love asked Knowledge :"Tell me, Knowledge, who was this old man?"

Knowledge looked at Love and answered - There was The Time. The Time? Asked again Love. But why the Time rescued me?The Knowledge was looking at the Love one more and after looking into the distance where an old man float away and answered: Only The Time can know how important is Love in the Life.

ENTRY OF OUR LORD INTO JERUSALEM (Palm Sunday). Ven. Theodore Trichinas ("the Hair-shirt Wearer"), Hermit, near Constantinople. Ven. Alexander, Abbot of Oshevensk (1479). Child Martyr Gabriel of Bialystok (1690). Ss. Gregory (593) and Anastasius the Sinaite (599), Patriarchs of Antioch. Ven. Anastasius, Abbot of Sinai (695).
Philippians 4:4-9
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are
lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy - meditate on these things.9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
John 12:1-18
1 Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who had been dead, whom He had raised from the dead.2 There they made Him a supper; and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with Him.3 Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled
with the fragrance of the oil.4 But one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, who would betray Him, said,5 Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it.7 But Jesus said, "Let her alone; she has kept this for the day of My burial.8 For the poor you have with you always, but Me you do not have always.9 Now a great many of the Jews knew that He was there; and they came, not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might also see Lazarus, whom
He had raised from the dead.10 But the chief priests plotted to put Lazarus to death also,11 because on account of him many of the Jews went away and believed in Jesus.12 The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,13 took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out: Hosanna! 'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!' The
King of Israel!"14 Then Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written:15 Fear not, daughter of Zion; Behold, your King is coming, Sitting on a donkey's colt."

FIFTH SUNDAY OF LENT Tone 5. St. Mary of Egypt. Hieromartyr Artemon, Presbyter, of Laodicea in Syria (303). Martyr Crescens, of Myra in Lycia. Woman Martyr Thomais, of Alexandria (5th c.).
Hebrews 9:11-14
11 But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of his creation.
12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.
13 For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh,
14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Mark 10:32-45
32 Now they were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was going before them; and they were amazed. And as they followed they were
afraid. Then He took the twelve aside again and began to tell them the things that would happen to Him:33 Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him
to death and deliver Him to the Gentiles;34 and they will mock Him, and scourge Him, and spit on Him, and kill Him. And the third day He will rise again.35 Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Him, saying, "Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask."36 And He said to them, "What do you want Me to do for you?"37 They said to Him, "Grant us that we may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on Your left, in Your glory."38 But Jesus said to them, "You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I
am baptized with?"39 They said to Him, "We are able." So Jesus said to them, "You will indeed drink the cup that I drink, and with the baptism I am baptized with
you will be baptized;40 but to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it is prepared.41 And when the ten heard it, they began to be greatly displeased with James and John.42 But Jesus called them to Himself and said to them, "You know that those who are considered rulers over the Gentiles lord it over them, and
their great ones exercise authority over them.43 Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant.44 And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all.45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.

Why missing "tell me lies...Sundays only" on last Sunday?

Sunday, 6.4. 2008: Anniversary of found first "undead" in the world.

The disinterment in Serbia in 1725 and 1732 of several fluid-filled corpses that villagers claimed were behind a plague of vampirism led to widespread interest and imaginative treatment of vampirism throughout western Europe. Vampires are supposedly dead humans (originally
suicides, heretics, or criminals) who maintain a kind of life by biting the necks of living humans and sucking their blood; their victims also become vampires after death. These “undead” creatures cast no shadow and are not reflected in mirrors. They can be warded off by crucifixes or wreaths of garlic and can be killed by exposure to the sun or by an oak stake driven through the heart.

THIRD SUNDAY OF LENT Tone 3. Veneration of the Cross. Ven. John Climacus of Sinai, author of The Ladder (6th c.). St. Sophrony, Bishop of Irkutsk (1771). Prophet Joad (1 Kings 13:1110th c. B.C.). Apostles Sosthenes, Apollos, Cephas, Cr, and Epaphroditus, of the Seventy (1st c.). St. Eubula, mother of St. Panteleimon (ca. 303). Ven. John the Silent of St. Sabbas Monastery (6th c.). St. Zosimas, Bishop of Syracuse (ca. 662).
Hebrews 4:14-5:6
14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.1 For every high priest taken from among men is appointed for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.2 He can have compassion on those who are ignorant and going astray, since he himself is also subject to weakness.3 Because of this he is required as for the people, so also for himself, to offer sacrifices for sins.4 And no man takes this honor to himself, but he who is called by God, just as Aaron was.5 So also Christ did not glorify Himself to become High Priest, but it was He who said to Him: "You are My Son, Today I have begotten You."6 As He also says in another place: "You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek";
Mark 8:34-9:1
34 When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, "Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.35 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it.36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?37 Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?38 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.1 And He said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you that there are some standing here who will not taste death till they see the kingdom of God present with power."

SECOND SUNDAY OF LENT Tone 2. St. Gregory Palamas. Martyr Nikon and 199 disciples with him in Sicily (251). Ven. Nikon, Abbot of the Kiev Caves (1088). Martyrs Philetas the Senator, his wife, Lydia, their sons Macedon and Theoprepius, Chronides the Notary, and Amphilochius the Captain, in Illyria (117-138). Righteous Basil of Mangazea in Siberia (1600). Monk Martyr Luke of St. Annes Skete (Mt. Athos 1802).
Hebrews 1:10-2:3
10 And: "You, LORD, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands.11 They will perish, but You remain; And they will all grow old like a garment;12 Like a cloak You will fold them up, And they will be changed. But You are the same, And Your years will not fail."13 But to which of the angels has He ever said: "Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool"?14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?1 Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.2 For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward,3 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, Mark 2:1-12
1 And again He entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that He was in the house.2 Immediately many gathered together, so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the door. And He preached the word to them.3 Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men.4 And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying.5 When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven you."6 And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts,7 Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone?8 But immediately, when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, He said to them, "Why do you reason about these things in your hearts?9 Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven you,' or to say, 'Arise, take up your bed and walk'?10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins-He said to the paralytic,11 I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.12 Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, "We never saw anything like this!"

FIRST SUNDAY OF LENT Tone 1. Sunday of Orthodoxy. Martyr Sabinas of Egypt. Martyr Papas of Lyconia (305-311). St. Serapion, Archbishop of Novgorod (1516). Apostle Aristobulus of the Seventy, Bishop of Britain (1st c.). Hieromartyr Alexander, Pope of Rome (119). Martyr Julian of Anazarbus (3rd c.). Hieromartyrs Trophimus and Thalus, of Laodicea (ca. 300).
Hebrews 11:24-26,32-12:2
24 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter,25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin,26 esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.32 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets:33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.35 Women received their dead raised to life again. Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.36 Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment.37 They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented-38 of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth.39 And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise,40 God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us.1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and
has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
John 1:43-51
43 The following day Jesus wanted to go to Galilee, and He found Philip and said to him, "Follow Me."44 Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.45 Philip found Nathanael and said to him, "We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote-Jesus of Nazareth, the
son of Joseph."46 And Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see."47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said of him, "Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!"48 Nathanael said to Him, "How do You know me?" Jesus answered and said to him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree,
I saw you."49 Nathanael answered and said to Him, "Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!"50 Jesus answered and said to him, "Because I said to you, 'I saw you under the fig tree,' do you believe? You will see greater things than these."51 And He said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending
upon the Son of Man."

Romans 13:11-14:4
11 And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy.14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.1 Receive one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things.2 For one believes he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables.3 Let not him who eats despise him who does not eat, and let not him who does not eat judge him who eats; for God has received him.4 Who are you to judge another's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him
stand.
Matthew 6:14-21
14 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.16 Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,18 so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.19 Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

SUNDAY OF MEATFARE Tone 7. Sunday of the Last Judgment. Hieromartyr Theodotus, Bishop of Cyrenia (ca. 320). St. Arseny (Arsenius), Bishop of Tver (1409). Virgin Martyr Euthalia of Sicily (257). Martyr Troadius of Neo-Crea (3rd c.). Ven. Agathon of Egypt (5th c.). 400 Martyrs slain by the Lombards in Sicily (579).
1 Corinthians 8:8-9:2
8 But food does not commend us to God; for neither if we eat are we the better, nor if we do not eat are we the worse.9 But beware lest somehow this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to those who are weak.10 For if anyone sees you who have knowledge eating in an idol's temple, will not the conscience of him who is weak be emboldened to eat those things offered to idols?11 And because of your knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?12 But when you thus sin against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.13 Therefore, if food makes my brother stumble, I will never again eat meat, lest I make my brother stumble.1 Am I not an apostle? Am I not free? Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? Are you not my work in the Lord?2 If I am not an apostle to others, yet doubtless I am to you. For you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.
Matthew 25:31-46
31 When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:35 'for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;36 'I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.'37 Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink?38 'When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You?39 'Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?'40 And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.'41 Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:42 'for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink;43 'I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.'44 Then they also will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?'45 Then He will answer them, saying, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.'46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal
life.

SUNDAY OF THE PRODIGAL SON Tone 6. First (4th c.) and Second (452) Finding of the Honorable Head of the Holy Glorious Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist of the Lord, John. Ven. Erasmus of the Kiev Caves (Near Caves 12th c.).
1 Corinthians 6:12-20
12 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.13 Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.14 And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power.15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not!16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For "the two," He says, "shall become one flesh."17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.
Luke 15:11-32
11 Then He said: "A certain man had two sons.12 And the younger of them said to his father, 'Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.' So he divided to them his livelihood.13 And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living.14 But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want.15 Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.16 And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything.17 But when he came to himself, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!18 'I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you,19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants. '20 And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.21 And the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.'22 But the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet.23 'And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry;24 'for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' And they began to be merry.25 Now his older son was in the field. And as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing.26 So he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant.27 And he said to him, 'Your brother has come, and because he has received him safe and sound, your father has killed the fatted calf.'28 But he was angry and would not go in. Therefore his father came out and pleaded with him.29 So he answered and said to his father, 'Lo, these many years I have been serving you; I never transgressed your commandment at any time; and yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might make merry with my friends.30 'But as soon as this son of yours came, who has devoured your livelihood with harlots, you killed the fatted calf for him.'31 And he said to him, 'Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours.32 'It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found.'
